At least 31 people have been killed and 169 others injured in a devastating suicide bombing outside the Tarlai Imambargah, a Shia religious centre in Islamabad’s Shehzad Town. The attack occurred during Friday prayers when worshippers had gathered.
Authorities suspect a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the entrance, and security forces quickly responded. Police and rescue teams rushed the injured to nearby hospitals, including PIMS and Polyclinic, where several victims are in critical condition.
Security has been heightened across the capital as investigations continue to identify those responsible. The attack has drawn widespread condemnation, raising serious concerns over the targeting of places of worship and religious minorities in Pakistan.
