Indian-Origin Sridhar Ramaswamy Named CEO of Snowflake

Snowflake, the leading cloud-based data platform company, announced the appointment of Sridhar Ramaswamy as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Ramaswamy, an executive of Indian origin, will also join Snowflake's Board of Directors. He succeeds Frank Slootman, who will transition to the role of Chairman of the Board.

Ramaswamy brings a wealth of experience in the technology industry. He previously served as the Senior Vice President of AI at Snowflake, where he spearheaded the company's artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. His leadership was instrumental in the launch of Snowflake Cortex, a fully managed service that simplifies and secures AI for rapid business value creation.

Prior to Snowflake, Ramaswamy held senior leadership roles at Google, where he oversaw the company's advertising business. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the growth and development of Google's advertising products.
