Fremont, CA – India’s exuberant colors, filled the streets of Fremont as thousands of people from all over the Bay Area turned up for the annual Fog India Day Parade & Mela. This grand event, which took place on August 17 and 18, 2024, displayed a vibrant tapestry of Indian culture, music, dance and heritage.Adding a touch of glamour and celebrity power to the occasion was Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala serving as Grand Marshal of the parade. Walking with them along the streets, there was quite enthusiasm that they showed for her.
The parade had floats decorated with intricate designs in a broad range, representing different states and regions of India. Colorful costumes, traditional dance performances and energetic music filled the air attracting people of all age groups.
Many Indian cultural organizations, non-profits and community groups took part in the parade. The Fog Mela also presented itself as a rich cultural exhibit that was designed to add more activities to its kind like parades. From number of dance schools come out demonstrating Indian classical and folk dances gracefulness and rhythm while their performances kept on mesmerizing the audience. A busy market place came into being, which featured various sellers selling beautiful Indian clothing, traditional jewelry, and home decor. Then again there were also a variety of food trucks at the venue where you could sample some authentic Indian tastes - this is because attendees had varied appetites.
Fog India Day Parade & Mela is about more than just celebrating Indian culture; it is a way of bringing communities closer despite diversity taking place all around us. People from various backgrounds gathered here during this event so as not to forget or lose out on any aspect related to rich cultural heritage associated with India.
